That bike is just gorgeous. And what a spectacular riding style! I can't wait for the beginning of the season... so many potential winners and Laverty is surely one of them.

Seriously what else is he going to say, of course the bike feels better he's had a whole season to adjust it to his liking, if it didn't feel better then they need a different rider especially when you see what Max did with it. But agree it's a nice bike but I wonder if the Panigale will unseat it as best looking?

Lke his brother Micheal this guy always has an excuse and REALLY talks himself up. Last year he said hed win the title, then mid way through (languishing down the order), once he got a podium he said hed finish top 3 in the championship!
1 win last year and 2 on the Yam in questionable circumstances at Monza aren't good enough.
Hes over-rated by fans. Didnt even win the supersport title. Definately needs a big improvement this year to justify his seat. I see Guintoli beating him though.

Like many riders, being a nice guy isnt and shouldnt be enough. Results are what counts and Laverty hasnt produced them.

@wids-complete bs
what was his excuse for finishing on equal points with third place in the championship-ON HIS FIRST YEAR!! on anything bigger than a 600?
what was his excuse for barely loosing out to Cruchlow in his first year of wss??and very unlucky not to take it the next year,to probablly the most successful ss rider ever.
its not rocket science Widz-how about taking your grudges out somewhere else.

Laverty is not going to have to worry about speed, he will have to worry about tires. Hopefully Pirelli put out some better rubber that doesnt slow down the not-so-snails this year, and we can see some racing faster than the CRT GPs.

Theres no grudge. Hes been a factory bike his team mate has won the championship on and hes underperformed.

The annoying thing is a) Lavertys comments- whats wrong with saying 'Im not fast enough yet/I lack experience', rather than boast Im going to win races and be top 3.
b) I recall all the muppets on this very site writing off Biaggi and stating how Lavery was going to beat him this year. Anyone else with a single win on a factory bike would get LOADS of grief. Yet because Eugene is a nice guy off the track and flies the flag for Ireland people back him unequivalently.

Hes too full of himself and I dont like him.

perhaps, but there was no way he was gonna beat Max, and it had nothing to do with tallent, 8/10's of whats decided on the track has already been decided off the track. What you see is the product of what the organizers and owners dont want you to see. Euguene is a talented rider, but he has to contend with Pirelli, his bosses and that will determine how successful he is. If he plays his cards right, plays right with the team and his team give him enough support and Pirelli dont try to give Ducati another hand out season he has a good shot at finishing in the top 4 this year. The tires will tell how well Sykes finishes this year, hes obviously the one to beat if everyone had tires to go full distance.
