Gotta give it to him, he was bloody good this year. I knew he was quick but never did I expect him to do just this well. Hats off and all that. He'll be a contender next year for sure, probably even the favourite. Will be as good in that position as he's been as an underdog, is the question...

Hope I am wrong but I don't se it, if you look back at his carear, its race pace he has struggled with. When he was team mate 2 shaky he usually out qualified him, but shaky was a diff level on race pace.

Sykes was fantastic in 2012. It seems though that the Kawa (while super-fast) still struggles a bit with tyre wear, while Sykes has to be so physical & on the limit for the entire race. That effort & commitment along with tyre issues meant Sykes was the hardest working rider - pretty tough to compete over 2 long races with guys with better bikes (over race distance).

The bike (& TS) has the speed, but it looks like they still need to find a bit more over full race distance. looking fwd to 2013 WSBK - it could well be the best (and last??) great & competitive WSBK season.

Tom's acheivements were far, far above expectations and he deserves to top this poll. Over the past few seasons, my son has been championing TS while I haven't been so impressed with him, and it seems my son saw something that I and others missed.

I am 100percent in agreement - 2013 will be a GREAT year for WSB. I'm thinking the top four will be Sykes, Laverty, Guintoli and Melandri, but not necessarily in that order every race.
