This lad have a very strong mind!! Laverty is very focus guy, he dont like bullsht just to ride, i like this on one rider Determination and Focus on target... 4sure i think the way Guintoli ride is more similar to Max Biaggi and Aprilia is a very conected with this riding Style.. But the true is this Laverty is the number 1 now he only need to prove that to Aprilia on the 1 part of the year beating Guintoli, if he can do this Aprilia will pay more atencion to Laverty requestes.. i dunno is caind hard this one i think Guintoli will be faster but defenatly Laverty have the spirit to fight for somethingh..

Why is he the number 1 rider for Aprilia? Doesn't Guintolli have more wsbk wins? I am sure that if Sylvain maintains the standards he achieved last season then Mr Laverty will again be the 2nd rider in this team.
I am not a Eugene Laverty hater, he comes across as a really nice guy, doesn't bulldoze people off the track like mr rea, did better on the R1 than he has so far on the RSV4, I look forward to being proven wrong...

@ Golly

first part of the season has software problems which were well reported and only when they went through the code / program line by line did they find an issue and he instantely improved from there.

Like supersport performances before and 250cc grand prix before that he's a diminutive guy in stature not unlike Max and high corner speed and smoothness with well thought out racecraft. Don't think pressure affects him and can't wait for up the front racing. He could do with being a little more physical and not be blullied around the track like he was by Messrs Melandri and others. If he doesn't nip that he'll get a reputation and everyone will do it to rattle his cage. Hopefully he shows full potential so everyone can see the talent.

Without Biaggi Aprilia will occasionally get some podiums but nothing more. None of their contemporary riders is a title contender. It's gonna be between Melandri and Sykes.

its all about going quick as well. I thought its down to Pirelli giving better tyres to everyone else than Sykes?
Anyway looks like they can make their tyres last from Aus to Spain becuase India is very doubtful.

I never said Pirelli was giving sykes a different tire, Carlos Checa said that Pirelli made a tire for the fours last year, and I am most certainly inclined to agree. Funny how an Italian won it though :) Just barely, and Sykes, was by far much faster than the rest of the field last year, and it was the tires that kept him from taking it so very early in the season.
