Carlos Checa admits he thought his troubled build up to first Superpole of the season would scupper his chances of challenging for pole position at Phillip Island.

How surprissed is this Pole?? The Ducati was running more fast on the straight then the CBR and was by far 300 KMPH por Ducati and 289 for Honda.. Checa was worried about tyre problems but Ducati with the vtwin has allways less problems then the 4 cil bikes.. i think the Winner for this round is Checa, only if he high side like last year... Anyway i still hope that Tom can get a podium place we will see

Nah, Eugene should grab the win if he can keep his tires like Max did last year. I think Aprilia are banking on Eugene, Eugene put in the best time on a race tire, and hes been going on about 'race pace.' As good as Carlos is around PI, that Aprilia had some AWESOME pace last year around the island.

wouldnt be surprised to see #84 fighting with Guintoli for 3rd spot on the podium. Sykes injury and apparent lack of speed seem to imply a damage limitation weekend. Will be interesting to see how the tires pan out for both WSBK and WSS.

Here we go, "ducati are cheating bla bla, why can't people except Checa is a f@cking good rider and is obviously a twin man. Same thing last year and the f@cking thing was obsolete. No one said well done Checa for sticking it out and still getting decent results.

"banking on Laverty" are you real, not that Laverty isn't a good rider but Guinters aint no pay to ride they have him for a reason, to win the championship!! Have you ever watched Guinters. Come sunday night you can decide who the num1 Aprillia rider is! He's running the times he's doing on any rubber and easily, come the race he's going to be a force.

By the 2nd round they better increase the weight on all ducatis. After all the 2013 bike is way lighter than last year.

Or give the I4s an extra 100ccs or a weight decrease.

Honda have electronics issues, Suzuki probably has some setup issues/limitations, Kawasaki is being piloted by an injured rider. Checa, Eugene, Guintoli, Fabrizio and Marco have to the strong contenders for podiums tomorrow, Sykes and Melandri will probably make the biggest differences from their grid and finishing positions. Pretty sure Aprilia will finish four riders in the top 10 both races.
