Carlos Checa is briefly knocked unconscious in an accident at Phillip Island, but otherwise escapes major injury.

Notice how Melandri immediately ran to help Checa and check if he's allright. That's manners, that's sportsmanship.

Somehow I would not expect that to happen in MotoGP...

yeah, that was all pilot error. watch the replay. checa overcooked it attempting what i've dubbed "assen-pass" (ie. slingshoting 'round T15 @ van drenthe). looks good on paper. he was in full "gary rothwell" (ie. nose wheelie).seconds before clouting melandri.

Almost looked like a Brake Failure but Checa was making big passes on that corner so mabey he did brake too late,Hopefully he will make a quick recovery,Nasty looking Crash.

India was supposed to be between PI and Aragon before it was put back, then Aragon was delayed by a week to avoid a clash with MotoGP

Why is there such a big gap between races? The last time there wasn't a full month or more between the first and second meetings was 2009.

Lets hope Carlos is back to normal.
