After what happened last year when he missed the championship by 0.5 points, Sykes is very deserving of the championship. However, the team needs to consistently give him a bike that does not produce a mechanical failure. The fact that he is 47 points behind schedule even though there is still a long season ahead of us tells me that it will be difficult to regain the lead if Aprilia and BMW consistently outpaces him during the race. Kawasaki needs to do a better job with the bike so he can just race and hopefully to consistently place on the podium.
