“[Aprilia] told me that Max Biaggi had a different engine. They actually told me. And that was it, I had 100% different kit” - Leon Camier.

The current Gixxer basic engine design is already past its prime to make any significant hike in performance despite extensive modification. It's about time Suzuki come out with a new bike with a higher revving ultra short stroke engine finger follower-type valvetrain - something like the BMW S1000RR...

Ducati, Ferrari, Aprilia, great racing names but they do it Italian style. Sounds a bit like Ducati in the Laconi/Toseland year - good to know the reason for Leon's drop in form at Aprilia. I'm hoping that the pace Suzuki showed in testing at PI will show up in a race soon.

Even if you had the same engine he still would have beaten you......face it camier you aren't in that same league.....a fast rider on your day but hardly a Max Biaggi......I don't blame aprillia

I think you will see that at no time did Leon say that he would have beaten Biaggi .. But surely anyone would have to agree that a level playing field would have made his racing more enjoyable ? As for not believing Aprilia would play dirty. Have a word with Laverty! And HE was aloud to have his own, English speaking team with him!

MB, did you not see Leon racing injured on Sunday? Failing to see how anyone could not have been impressed with him TBH....and think everyone suspected as that was basically Max's team, it's hardly a massive surprise to find out that he pinched all the upgraded bits for himself!

Quite right Pete. It was a really gutsy ride. .. Don't forget, Leon has won every championship he has ridden in since he was about 7 years old... You don't do that unless you are a classy rider. There are a lot of good riders on sub standard bikes ! Biaggi just made sure it wasn't him on the sub standard one. .. And if that didn't work, well there was always " team orders".

And don't forget Aprillia offered Leon the ride for this season, before going for Guintoli, which he turned down. It just shows why as you would not turn down a ride like that without good reason.

Regardless of what happened at Aprilia, this guy's hard as nails. To overcome a pretty serious injury, a terrible grid position and a slow bike to finish 7th is pretty epic. He's going to come good eventually.

I believe Camier what he says about that different engine.
I would bet on it Laverty had a different spec engine last year also untill Biaggi was close enough to the title. Then Laverty got the better engine too and the results became better. Remember he had to let through Biaggi in Moscow!
Aprillia was all about Biaggi when he was in that team.

Of course, what he expect (Italian team, bike, tires,...), to have equal treatment with (legend) Max? Max develop that Aprilia, he was No.1 rider. Before LC sign contract he should now and expect that, like EL too.
