re: "Max was penelised for not following the white lines back to the track, he choose not to attend the briefings when this was clarified, no one from Aprillia told him, that was 100% their problem."

re: "The corner where Tom ran wide (for whatever reason) did not have any "specific" re-entry point marked on the track for the riders to follow. Fab never complained 'cause he knew he made an error. You can't compare these 2 events...2 different corners ....and 2 different situations."

whew, thank god...! for a minute there i was beginning to think s1's the only person in the whole wide world of roadracing who's paying attention...? carry on.

The decision to allow Sykes to keep its position is a scandal...
He outbraked himself trying to pass Guintoli and his excuse that he tried to avoid Melandri is silly.
He was to far behind him...

re "his excuse that he tried to avoid Melandri is..."

....dead nuts accurate.

sounds like somebody's not even so much as registered for a trackday, nevermind raced. wait, do you even OWN a motorbike...?

Am I the only person thinking that this thread is being taken well out of proportion...? Scandal? Really?

It's very marginal. Sykes is on the racing line when he runs off and he is very close to Melandri's back wheel... we just don't know if he is carrying too much speed or not.

Either way, we are talking about 3rd and 4th and though Sykes will be the first to say every point counts, it isn't as though we are talking about disqualifications or causing an accident...

I love a bit of controversy with my racing, but this isn't really controversial when you think about it....

Sykes overtook Guinters on the brakes into the chicane and was never going to stop in time THEREFORE he DID NOT COMPLETE the move and rann off track so should have dropped back behind Guinters.
Sykes attempt to look at Melandri as he ran off track was a good attempt at making it look like he got brake checked y Melndri as an excuse for running off track when it cleary WAS NOT THE CASE when you look at the tv replays from both sides of the track SYKES was way too hot into the chicane and couldn't make the turn. Guinters robbed

Lets reverse the situation, if Guinters had done this to Sykes how would you react??
I know who the majority of crash readers react.....This is a disgrace, cheating to stop the brits etc etc.....
WSBK is fast becoming a joke, they have put so many UK riders on top bike to try and get a brit to win the championship but its not going to work....basically the reverse of the situation in MotoGP.
The problem for me is other than Chaz the rest of them come across as muppets

it sound like alot of people here didnt watch the race properly or just ignorant not because am a kawasaki fan he pass the guy way before the corner i personal think the kawa and sykes had better corner speed than thee other rider at that race especially that corner, at the end of the day it could have been allot worse use your common senses when making judgments

Its racing and Sh!t happens, But to make a mistake like that and basically outbreak yourself to make a pass (which he ran on so he did not really make it) and then come out slower infront of the guy and block him/make him change line or react is wrong. I have done many trackdays etc etc but that IS NOT racing so no point in even bringing that up. Tom was wrong with his reaction in Park Ferme and I am A Kawasaki Nut and ride one but really this is simply not good sportsmanship..Plain and simple IMHOP and how Sykes acted in his post interview (he was out of there like a scolded cat) he knows it too! Guinters has every right to be miffed. And before you say it I am british/Like Tom and have ridden Kawasaki's on road and for over 10 years so no bias here!!

It would be very interesting to hear Melandri's side of the story. Either way Sykes made the mistake and very unsportsman like to blame someone else! Smacks of desperation to grab points at any cost.
