I don't understand the criticism of the organisers by any riders/teams in this situation.

Yes in hindsight, the conditions certainly contributed to the accident - but none of the riders signalled any discomfort on the warm up/sighting lap, and all rode hard round the first lap, so to blame the organisers is unfair in my opinion.

The only thing i still don't understand is why racecontrol waited so long before red flagging the wss race. The front riders had almost completed a full lap en had nearly arrived at the crash site before the race was finally stopped.
Even with al the spray, it was pretty obvious that there would be injured riders on, or beside, the track. Not to mention the wreckage of their machines...

I wish people would stop placing blame. We should be using this tragic accident to look ahead at making the sport safer.

I think it should be up to the organizers to decide if the race is safe to start in the future not the riders. Nobody wants to be the one who wants to call off the race. The riders at the front all want to race for crucial points and everybody else follows suit - It's the bystander effect. As Andrea's father said. He thought he was in for a better chance of winning in the wet, so Andrea was not going to protest the race start due to bad weather.

Somebody neutral like a race official in the safety car should call it.

So the newly crowned Spanish WSBK boss, fresh from the little Spanish community in MotoGP calls the Italian & other riders liars, but is quick to point out that a Spanish rider was the champion of safety on the day.

How long before we have all Spanish podiums in all WSBK categories.

Also an insight into how rides & contracts are backhandedly manipulated to suit Spanish teams & riders over in MotoGP!

This could lead to more races been called off due to weather conditions , as promoters and organizers don't want to face the blame for a unfortunate incident , if they allow the race to start in bad conditions .

its called a bunch of idiots at the helm who are so greedy they can't cover up their own mess anymore.

I for one thing the wheel changes in the first race were about as lame as it gets for racing. same bike, be lucky to get a good setup for the wet, having to worry if one of the guys will mess up and waste 10+ seconds. Lame.

Davies setup for the wet was horrible, but I am sure if he had a wet bike he would have not lost by so much time, and he still would have had the margin out of the gates.

Real shame what the producers @ Dorna are coming up with these days, real insulting to fans with any brains too, its like a cheap soap opera, its not even racing anymore.

"oh the drama" --- give me a ******* break. Take your drama and shove it where the sun dont shine commentators who appreciate the degeneracy of racing in to television entertainment.

Wait until the Dorna supplement packages are handed out here have some money ohh wait you have to have this Spanish moto 2 backmarker.
The bias is just rediculous I remember this guy talking about bringing riders in from other countries in GP his claim to fame is Air Asia rider Zalfami Khiarudin. Job well done sir the bias of the motogp paddock is only to obvious just forget that bias while making sbk decisions. I'm pretty sure Pual Bird didn't want Yonny Hernandez on his team.

The riders have made it abundantly clear in the past that they, not the organisers, want the last say in if a race should proceed or not. Any single rides could have waved his arms after the warm up lap to abort the start and then discussions could be held as to the safety of continuing. The organiser should always have the ability to delay or cancel a race for safety concerns but the riders should and can veto the organisers wish to start a race.
