Leon Haslam and Michael van der Mark power to victory in the Suzuka 8 Hours for Honda; Former 500cc world champion Kevin Schwantz finishes third for Suzuki.

It's not British pride the fact that Haslam was on the winning team in an endurance race is more impressive than winning a sprint race. Reason why this is impressive is in a sprint race of say 20 odd laps you can run on adrenaline and painkillers for most of the race, endurance racing you have to pass through the 20 odd lap barrier and he would have been in pain for the most part.

Van Der Mark is an up and coming talent but hasn't established himself yet but time will tell if he's sbk championship material.
