WSBK » Baz shines through the Silverstone gloom again

Almost exactly a year to the day he was standing on the World Superbike podium at Silverstone for the first time, Loris Baz does it all over again in 2013.

silverstone is a disgrace of a 'world championship' track.
the track is dangerous, the spectators stands are pis$ poor, the big screens are laughable and its a lottery if you get your own bike on the way home. embarrassing. take a lesson from assen. make it enjoyable, not sh!t

Great racing though (From my sofa)!

Note to Ezpeleta..... Take a look at this for some proper RACING! Yes the field is too small and the series may be rocky in every other way.... But the track action makes MotoGP look like a parade. Now THAT was exciting Racing and entertainment for all the right reasons, not a pre-fabricated media marketing exercise.

Carmelo. If you introduce dozy factory ar$e-kissing regs into WSBK like the foul mess you've done with MotoGP, then WSBK will be utterly screwed.

Can anyone imagine a MotoGP race with a fraction of the real drama and competition we saw at Silverstone today? No chance. So having Dorna in charge of WSBK future is not confidence inspiring.

This is the last year silverstone will be on the wsb calendar. They signed a 4 yr deal in 2010. I do not think they will be signing a new contract. Becouse dorna now runs WSB it will not be back. Motogp contract finishes next season 2014 and has gone to BT Sport as from 2015 vthere will not be a British Motogp. Donington may also lose the European Rd of WSB

To all you beetches screaming about Silverstone.....

Biscuit, simple, don't go again!

I went to MotoGP last year and had a great time. Will do again this year. Stop moaning and sit in front of your TV this year okay? The racing was fun, the fans were great and I left on my bike 15 minutes after the racing finished.

So the weather was iffy? We've had 6 weeks of glorious sunshine in the UK this year. Just so happened today was crap. The racing was exciting though. I enjoyed it!

Bah Humbug to you!

I went to F1 camping this year and it was fantastic in every way from the racing to the toilets, just brilliant. So stop moaning. I will be there for MotoGP camping at the end of this month too and I cant wait. And I know I will enjoy it instead of being ready to bash it straight away.

Very happy for Baz, top lad and great result :)

As for Silverstone, those talking about GP and F1 are getting a much better service than those there for WSBK. I have been going for the last 14 years in a row and in that time i've done Brands, Donington and Silverstone....i have also done F1 and GP at Silverstone recently. This year, due to a new member of the family i am skint and could not go...my mates who come (we are the ones with their own band on the campsite) didn't go either.
Last year there was one screen at Silverstone for WSBK...compared to GP and F1 where there are tons of screens.
Now you might get away with a single screen at Brands given the circuit layout but Silverstone is vast and you need a lot more in order for it to work properly.
Bring back Brands Hatch and you will get an instant increase in fan satisfaction and the numbers will go through the roof :)

For those who were there yesterday, was it as empty as it looked on TV? kinda had the appearance of a club race...

Surely it would be better to encourage people to go rather than watch it on TV? Wasn't there a shedload of investment to make it better for spectators? It used to be boring (and cold and windy generally) for bikes, but OK for F1...

I used to live in Silverstone village but much preferred the racing at Donny.. or Mallory!.. (but maybe that was just because the ride was more interesting :-)

Fortunately, I now live nr Jerez, which is amazing - I hope to be marshalling there soon...
