Isn't it 'convenient' the rules get revised (again) to make the series cheaper (yet again)...just as Honda prepare to unleash their "game changer" RVF1000. For a while it seemed that the Italian owned/run series was falling back to the days of old when anything Ducati wanted to gain an advantage it was given (small batch runs of updated machinery...on a monthly basis...). It appears as though Noale was trying the same script (gear driven valves on Max's engines, amongst things...). But now it's run by DORNA, they're leveling the playing field, which can't be a bad thing. So, given that, here's another translation: " I'll wait and see what Gigi decides to do next year, where Nicky decides to go, see what their budget is...then give HRC a call."

I just saw a pic of the RVF, can't say I am impressed by the styling. Also I wish they would keep the brakes on the right side of the bike, oh well. Looks like they are trying to pander to the Ducati crowd. The lines aren't that great on it either in the MCN article, Now the Yamaha M1, theres a good looking bike :) Honda's RCV isn't that great looking anyways, wish they would have just put the V4 in the blade, and updated the chassis/swingarm.

re: "days of old when anything Ducati wanted to gain an advantage it was given (small batch runs of updated machinery...on a monthly basis...)"

they weren't being given anything. they were simply fulfilling the rules of homologation of which YOU the end consumer receive the benefit. all mfg's had the freedom to do that if they wanted. in fact Honda, Yamaha, Kawi, and Suzuki all did.

re: "But now it's run by DORNA, they're leveling the playing field.

tomato, tomahtoe. you see "leveling the playing field"...? i see vader striking down Kenobi then clenching his fist to symbolize having dealt a "crushing blow" to the rebellion.
