WSBK » Laverty keen to carry momentum to Laguna

Following his double victory last time out in Turkey, Eugene Laverty is confident he can continue his momentum on the series' return to Laguna Seca.

Very uncharacteristic for him to be publicly showing his disappointment with the team re: his contract, especially when he's in line for an Avintia ride. I hope his Cal-style moan hasn't harmed his chances. Fast no doubt, but something like 5 rider-induced DNF's this year sure aint GP-quality consistency.

Thing is schpongled - he is FAST. As the old mantra goes " a fast guy can learn to crash less but you can't make a slow guy fast".

Guinters has done a great job and I like him and rate him. But it seems Laverty has the edge on Guinters on outright speed. That outright pace is generally an attractive trait to prospective teams ( as long as the rider doesn't crash it every time out lol).

Seems though that the way Dorna are screwing it up so far that there could be a lot of international quality riders with nowhere near enough half decent rides to be had.

MotoGP has 4 (sewn up) rides worth having. WSBK seems to be haemorrhaging top teams and struggling to make grids.

At this rate BSB could end up with a top quality international field of WC refugees. It's already the best televised bike race series and getting better while Dorna continue to feck up theirs.

@shpongled..your comments are fairly far off the mark,i think-dont think he has any intention of returning to Avintia, where he raced in 250s afaik.aspar?
i wouldn't call his comments a moan.yours,i would.
three dnf were possibly rider-induced,at least one very unlucky first corner incident, and two machine failures, all while either leading,or challenging for the lead.

@ shpongled
One of your last comments about Laverty I remember was something along the lines of
"yawn. underachieving matey. Get some results and I'll listen!"
Has the double win since you made the comment made you "listen".
I think you also said
"How many times out-paced by Guinters? Too many!!!!!"
Dunno about that one either! I like guintolli but apart from being ahead of laverty on points I dont think he has been out paced by him too many times. A win ratio of 1:6 would suggest this too.
