re: "Why is Tom the only one that can ride the Kawasaki? Always wondering about this"

wonder no more. its not that he's the only one. Baz has shown that he gets on with the Zed, but Kawi (like Yamaha, Ferrari, Red Bull, etc) knows the secret to winning a championship is to have CLEARLY defined "command and control" in terms of support. tom didn't suddenly "learn" how to ride, he ALWAYS knew how to ride.

observe in '09 (with grinner as his teammate) spies STEAMROLLED his way to a WORL' CHAMPEEN while tom couldn't get arrested. now observe in '13 (with roles reversed and tom piloting 1st chair) SYKES is the one on for a title.

now imagine what would happen if a military (pick any) went to WAR with an army composed of all Chiefs and no Indians...? it would be a disaster. again, the enemy is NOT the man next to you in the trenches, the "enemy" are the teams in the OTHER garages down pit lane. this info is lost on Aprilia and BMW and Kawi's lovin' it. :)

Conrice, it's DNS because the race result was ultimately decided over the third start.

Because their crashes caused the red flags, technically they didn't make the third start (which became the race), so are classified as DNS rather than DNF

No doubt that Baz has done a great job, although usually in the wet but for the most part it's only Tom swinging for kawi. Need someone with experience proven to be fast to help Tom and Kawasaki out... Like Johnny Rea for example.. Love to see what he could do on that bike.. Or Melandri for that matter.
