Would personally love to see Spies back in SBK! Although the Panigale is somewhat hard to handle he has proven he can ride an under achieving bike (R1 2009) Besides SBK could do with a big name!

Would a top Football Club want a footballer with a suspect leg who hadn't played a full match for a year?
This is all about agreeing a payoff for Spies. Money will decide the outcome, not Ben's injury.

I don't want to see Spies back in WSBK yet. He's one of the worlds best riders, and he's not Spanish or British. He just needs and injury free season to get back to his old form.

It's a sad day when someone posts a comparison to Moto GP and motorcycle racing in general to football, which is a game played by a bunch of mincing fairies who roll around when getting scratched by another players manicured nails, or the buckle on his man bag. Poor show Mr Tetley.

Smoke and mirrors, Ben... smoke and mirrors!

The only place Ben is going is the knackers yard! He won't be in MotoGP next year and the fact that Rea was even considered - let alone asked - means Pramac are looking for someone else. He's had a good try, won a race and all that but he ain't MotoGP material.

Please read again and you will see that my comment was in regard to decisions made by Football Club Management, who are primarily concerned with results in a big money sport. In this respect they are a valid comparison with bike racing teams. I could just as easily written "Ice Hockey Teams".
I'm not a football fan - I have never been to a football match, I don't watch it on TV, but I don't have the extreme bias toward the game as your posting displays. Have I touched a nerve or is slagging off the mere mention of football your hobby? It seems that the word "football" prevents you from understanding what you read. That's probably why your posting is off-topic and doesn't contain any relevance to the Spies issue.

The main issue is whether or not Spies head is in the right spot or not. Riding wise he is money on a bike and you cant deny it.
(I REPEAT) when he is MENTALLY focused he is good to go because his riding speaks for itself. Fact.

Mikeebee
you hit the nail on the head.
ifs and ands...if he hadnt gone to factory squad so soon i suspect he would be right up their. That year with factory yamaha really broke him!
I fear for his physical health now though, his shoulder might spell the end if it doesnt heel. Really hope Im wrong though. After 2009 I thought he might become an alien!
