For sure Silverstone is pants when it comes to the spectating standpoint but the real concern is when circuits like Silverstone or Brands simply refuse to bid for a race because it is too expensive.
Silverstone would have liked to have got out of their contract last year because they were frankly losing a lot of money on it. MSV pulled out of hosting at Brands because Dorna wanted such a massive amount for the 'rights'.
Once again it is the fans that lose out because of Dorna's greed.

MSV withdrew Brands long before Dorna got involved, but the reasons are pretty similar.

I like Silverstone as a circuit and it's provided some great racing... however, it is too long and too spread out.

Donington works because you can more or less hear the bikes, even if you can't see them. At Silverstone, you had to wait another 2mins just to be able to hear them! It just killed the atmosphere.

Plus spectators always seemed too far away from the action...

Either way, just please don't replace Silverstone with another Spanish or Italian circuit!

I agree that Silverstone is relatively poor for spectating, the biggest issue for me being the track is too long hence you see the bikes come round fewer times. There are good views to be had all around the track if you fancy a walk. However, Silverstone is MILES better than Donington when it comes to facilities and infrastructure. Certainly at MotoGP Silverstone make a real effort to keep people entertained the whole weekend. Frankly, Donington is a complete dump in comparison.

I've always much preferred Donington to watch the bikes, I don't intend on going to Silverstone again, so fingers crossed Motogp follows suit, the atmosphere around Donington in the good old days was fantastic, and unfortunately the wide open, windy silverstone doesnt come close.

Otherwise, Brands and Cadwell should get world champs again!

@jf " Let's face it, Brands Hatch is the one everyone in the UK really want to see."
Sorry, but have to disagree.
Brands is a helluva long way for everyone except those living in the South. Donington is more central and is fed by motorways from all directions (and has an airport next door for the overseas fans).
I saw Formula 1 at Brands in the 1970's and was impressed by the track and the facilities. The last time I was there in the 2000's, the kerbs were crumbling, the facilities were worn out and the breakfasts were inedible.
The Brands Indy circuit is mickey-mouse apart from Paddock Hill Bend and Druids. The GP circuit is mainly out-of-sight. Donington offers better viewing.
Now Donington has had a comprehensive facelift (which is on-going) it's return to WSBK status will be well justified.
