shakennstirred: they should never have kept him over Laverty

They didn't keep him over Laverty. Laverty was average - not steady in the middle of the season with few crashes just in bad time when contract negotiations are begun (which give Melandri excellent opportunity to jump in). SG was fulfilled the contract clause (to be among the top three at the end of the season), which guarantee place in the team for this season.

no, Guintoli never deserved to keep his ride, he only had one win and some average performances chancing it like Button does in F1. There is nothing interesting about watching someone race who doesn't really try and expects to win or finish higher than they deserve.

Guitnoli risked very little last year, and deserved the only win he got. Laverty and Melandri would have been a much better deal. As it stands now Melandri, if he can use Max Biaggi as a template, take over the team and give Aprilia someone to hang their hopes on, cause Sykes will OWN Guintoli 9 times out of 10.
