Even better, it's actually nine manufacturers (at least 3 BMWs in the EVO class). Just need Yamaha to return and KTM to join as well now!

Surprising but great news! Can't believe how quickly this project came together - I just hope it won't be a flight of fancy and they'll prove competitive! If WSBK went fully EVO now, it'd have a spectacular grid in 2014...

Despite all the fears that Dorna would cripple WSB there are more manufacturers entering for next season! This is brilliant news for the riders, teams and fans of production based roadracing.

Great to have that many manufaturers but they are not going get any air time on tv. And that is a fact.

But anyway, I would say this is highly risky move for Iddon. I was hoping to see him in 600 making some waves at the front. Another year in there and then get some decent ride in wsbk. Starting on new bike in new class is not usually eaysyest rode to take, hope it doesent crash hes career.

I doubt that aprilia shares your optimistic appraisal of the situation. (Vader voice)

re: "We at Alstare are excited to help develop it, get it on the track and unleash the beast within."

re: "I will be collaborating with Giuliano and ParkinGo at some level and will give further information once it has all been decided.”

hustle up (s1 taps finger repeatedly against watch face). there's still the TINY matter of homologation to attend to.

and suddenly... sobriety.

Absolutley, you beat me to it, the difference is FGS/IMS have now gone and Dorna are unlikely to accept 4 bikes and 146 pictures of them.

Alstare and Bimota between them have to come up with the budget for the season, neither have a good track record in that department. Its great Bimota are back but will it make it and last.

Shock return is an understatement is Dorna finally sharing some of their revenue with these smaller manufacturers. Lets be honest mv, ebr, and bimota are small manufacturers even when compared to Aprilia.

The only thing that'll give Bimota a shot is if BMW live up to their promise of supporting teams running BMW equipment and I'd doubt that it will go anywhere anyway.

Once the racing finally gets underway then we will see where this influx of hopeful teams and manufacturers stand.
