He made a pointed comment about his team mate getting in the way of his podium whereas a bit of praise for him and his podium would have been more sporting. I don't think Sykes thinks much of Baz and will not be impressed if he keeps taking points off Sykes!

I can understand Tom, but on the start of the year there is NO Number one.. Even if he is World Champion he have to worck to allways be the best.. Itys Clear that Baz is more confortable now riding the Kawa but anyway in my opinian this was just a bad week for Tom.. Philip Island dont bring lucke to him but i bealive he will be on Top on the next races

He may well be the No1 in the team. WC last year and on the same bike, Kawasaki would me mad not to invest +50% in him over Baz from the start. I agree that he should have congratulated his team mate but winners are not generally nice people.

Now suddenly everyone believes in Baz.

what sour grapes rocket? It was clear as day how fast he was catching/had caught the guys in front. Same as laverty in race 1.

the pass Baz put on Tom in race 1 was quite tough, but tom never said a sour word about it!

Good save from Sykes and the team. He had almost identical best lap times and sector times in both races, only difference being in second race he was picking up the pace towards the end. Almost all other riders were noticeably slower in race two with decreasing tempo.

Sykes
Race one best lap time (@lap 3) 1'31.307
Race two best lap time (@lap 14) 1'31.440

btw. top speed in race 2 = 321 km/h!

Honestly I think Baz was a bit reckless concerning his team mate on 2 occasions, the almost collided in second race. That might explain Tom's lack of positive reaction for the youngsters podium.

Ah the armchair critique... where every disparate opinion is fact because that's what you think.

First race of the year people, no need to start throwing conclusions about team leaders or sour grapes between riders! I'm just happy to see at least 5 competitive manufacturers going at it for victory.

Roll on Aragon...

re: "btw. top speed in race 2 = 321 km/h!"

elite 900 metre circuit and sea level. welcome to the double ton.

funny, did you guys notice. during the podium, Baz and Guinters are practically the same height with Guinters standing on a box...!? LOL

re: "I can understand Tom, but on the start of the year there is NO Number one"

vilas, I'm going to have to ask you to take a stroll through the winners enclosure, spy the front of grinners kit, and tell me what you see...? please, i'll wait here.
