Eugene Laverty believes his win in Australia can signal a push towards the 2014 WSBK title for Suzuki.

We'll see. It's good that he has the optimism and belief that Suzuki can do it so I hope he's right.
They looked strong in Australia but the engine blow-up kind of looked like they were over stretching things a bit, despite what he says about it being a 'small issue'. I still have my doubts about Suzuki being serious title contenders but I'm happy to be proved wrong as Laverty is one of my favourite riders. I think he has done enough already to show that he is a rider worthy of the title.

I hope he is right. I would love to see him prove to Aprila that they let the wrong rider go. It is nice to see another manufacture able to run at the front whether or not he wins the championship. Best of luck.

re: "Remember when Leon Haslam rode for Suzuki, Had a great start for the year & was a championship contender"

remember when Troy Corser rode for Francis Batta in 2005 and became WORL' CHAMPEEN for the second time or when Biaggi rode a Suzuki in '07 and finished the season P2 ...?

given it's 25 year pedigree, a supported (emphasis on supported) Suzuki was always going to be a contender. ironic, the only people who DON'T seem to know this are Suzuki...?!?!

unfortunately, this is UNprovable. I like Norge, but at the end of the day "Melandro's" Italian, his girlfriend's both Italian AND gorgeous, Louie's left the sinking ship, and Piaggio (more than ever) needs to sell bikes. every time they turn around, Carmelo's kicking their teeth in.

Norge doesn't talk sh#te, so if he says it's good to go, it is good to go. I was plesently surprised at the pace he had in PI, but the others will be working hard to eliminate any niggles they had. Looks like it will be a close battle this year. Seems like everybody can be in the mix. All other things being equal, I still think Sykes, Laverty, and Melandri will come to the top. The cream will rise folks.
