just got a text, it's from Munjal Ceo of Hero Corp. He says he's deeply saddened by you're inability to read the name of his company across the side of the bike. furthermore he adds, what...? are the letters not big enough...?

SuperSick58: Pack it up EBR - These bikes never won a race in AMA and they certainly cannot compete on a WSBK level...in fact, the AMA allowed these bikes to run in the 600cc class in order to have a chance...

They hold their own in AMA and the bike in 600cc is totally different...

If by "hold their own" you mean run 2.5 seconds a lap slower than the leaders. (I just looked at the results of the Daytona Superbike race, where the EBR's best lap time was 1:40.3 while two Yosh Suzukis turned 1:37.8's.)

Even though you're right about this model being different than the Buell which was allowed to race against 600's, that's exactly what it would take for Eric's latest generation boat anchors to win a race. They will never even get near a podium against other liter class bikes.

shamarone:sadly, add timk's name to the list of those who've lost the plot.

Just because a race fan believes racing is at least in part about racing, rather than subscribing to your sadly jaded theory that tv time for sponsors while getting lapped is as valuable as tv time for sponsors while getting on the podium, does not mean they have lost the plot.

I suppose you actually believe that if you asked Yates or May or Mr. Buell himself if they are satisfied with getting lapped as long as viewers see the Hero logo, they would answer that yes they're satisfied and that everyone who thinks racing is about finishing ahead of your competition has lost the plot. I believe they would answer differently.

I cannot imagine how someone who subscribes to your "plot" can even enjoy watching racing.

bikenutter, your mistaken. I was referencing the fact that when the DMG took over the AMA and decided that the 600cc was going to be the Premier "200" class, Mr Buell lobbied very hard to get his bike included. At that time he was using the Rotax engine bolted to his frame, they still were not competitive...by a long shot.
