Gotta feel for the guy, he's a great racer, his BSB title showed that but in the space of a few weeks he's gone from the pinacle of 2 wheeled racing to WSBK second string machinery, all through no fault of his own other than not having enough cash behind him to buy a ride!

Personally would have liked to see him on the PBM but I can imagine Dorna wouldn't have wanted another brit alongside Laverty in a british team, for the first time ever it seems a bad time to have a UK passport in Motogp

Leon Camier is the reason BSB brought in the Showdown as he had won the title half way through the season!! Leon is a brilliant rider who has had so much bad luck it isn't funny. Good to see him back on a bike and showing what he can do. It's terrible when good talent is wasted because of a lack of money.

Hopefully he can turn this into a positive.

After all. All the WSBK will be going EVO spec and Camier will have gained experience on EVO as well as proved just how quick he is.

Yet another class act who just needs a bit if luck and things to fall his way a bit. Then his ability will do the rest.

Look at Chas Davies. He had to fight for years doing great things on 2nd rate kit and prove himself 10x more than better connected riders who waltzed onto top kit and No1 rider status positions.

I think Camier has it in him to win WSBK races.

This guy deservesa top ride....The timing of contracts last year and when he was dropped in favor of Laverty left him no time to find a ride... I believe a handful of teams will attempt to sign him at the end of this year. BMW Italia may very well press for an additional bike for him as they are under represented this year with the official BMW pull out!!

I think BMW thought they would have a buch of customer racing teams once they pulled out like Ducati but that didn't happen. They will be looking at getting involved more in the coming year/s could be good for Camier.

Help me out, Leon sounds like he's got this ride for the year? How did I miss that (if that's the case), is he more than Sylvains temp. replacement? And if Barrier is coming back will Leon be his teammate? Thanks:P

"is he more than Sylvains temp. replacement?"

Temp, replacement, contingency call it what you will he's riding tue bike and is at the pointy end of things (evo class that is).

When Barrier returns is the contingency things went from bad to worse. I hope he comes back soon but I want Camier doing as many races as possible to keep up appearances and stay in the fold.

"I'd sponsor you!!"

Hmmm not sure he's allowed to raise public monies since he's not a charitable or not for profit entity. Even though motorcycle racing is hardly ever a profitable activity for most.

All in all seems a better cause than most at least I'd have half an idea wheremy money Iis going.
