A lot of people cry and moan about Honda not giving him the package to win SBK title. And yes that Fireblade is no pare with the Kawasaki and maeby not even with the Aprilia but its still a deacent piece of equipment over at the WSBK grid.

But one thing I love about Honda is that they are loal, just look at someone like Hiroshi Aoyoama and how badly he did for the last couple of years and still Honda is standing behind him. And I dont believe for a second that there is another manufacturer in the world that would have given even a tought to put SBK rider in mid season to their number one factory prototype over at MotoGP...

Rea won Suzuka.... and Honda had a injured rider, so they kind of gave him a reward. He got lucky. No more GP for Mr. Rea, unless he finds a way to run as one of the 15th or worse grid-fillers. and yeah the Tired-Blade has it's moments, but honestly it is way past that time that Honda should be bringing something new to the table.

"To watch that class and hear the prestige means that it's built up to be more than it was. I went in halfway through a season when everybody was up to speed and I didn't disgrace myself with a 7th and an 8th."
yeah and you didn't disgrace yourself , but you also didn't make anyone sit up n say we need this guy, you were average.
at his age he isn't going to get a top flight bike so its a midpack ride if he goes there

shakennstirred - Joanathan wasn't there to win races, just put the bike on the track!! Jonathan has also said that he didn't want to push the MotoGP bike as much as he would have liked for a couple of reasons - he was a bit scared he would come off and do too much damage, and he was still riding in WSB. Honda asked Jonathan to ride their bike for a couple of races while Stoner was injured and that is what he did - no need to try to impress, no need to try to show the world what you could do, just ride the bike round!! Jonathan did good!!

Hi Jonathan,
My wife and I are a couple from Northern Ireland that talk about you and Eugene all the time. We said a quick hello as you rode past in the paddock at Aragon this year.
Anyway, just to let you know that we think that you and Eugene should be at the front on works bikes in motogp, (not that we want either of you to leave WSB) and we agree that the sponsors and administrators of motor sport in Ireland should do a lot more for our hero's on the WORLD stage.
Have a great season!

when you get give a chance to ride a motogp bike you have to give it a real go, as it maybe your only ever chance, not just ride around etc, you have to make them sit up and take notice and he didn't make them do that.. anyone get close to 30 that isn't already in motogp isn't going to get a full factory ride in motogp that's a fact

I read somewhere else recently that his brief from Honda was to 'bring it home' and not to push for a result, so he did what he was told. With free rein to go for it the results may well have been very different.

At the end of the day, there's no point arguing whether he'd go to GP.

He struck me in the interview as contented. He's getting paid to ride a semi competitive bike in the permier production based series in the world and on top of that sundae he got the cherry opportunity to ride arguably the greatest motorcycle in thw world for a few races. I think he's happy with that, he knows a factory ride won't come his way but I also don't think he's bothered if it doesn't. He's enjoying his life where he is and you have to admire that.
