Only seven riders take part in the final WSBK test session , allowing Ruben Xaus to score the fastest time of the day, but Smrz's S2 effort makes him quickest overall.

Not sure if I agree with you about the Spies comment. That slow start trait was not something that happened to Spies in SBKs, I can really only think of a couple races where that was the case, namely South Africa and Germany. With Spies, I think it is more a case of confidence in the Bridgestones but in SBKs although he was new to the team, tires and the Yamaha, he really did not change his style much to get aquainted to the Yamaha superbike. The motogp bike matched with the bridgestones may just be a little more complicated to figure out and get right and so we are seeing this slow start effect as he builds confidence with the limits of the tire. Its hard to say that is the same prob that Smrz is having because he has been on a Duc and forever and a day. Anyway I hope Smrz does well and figure out this issue.
