Poor weather conditions and concerns over the state of Pirelli's treaded tyres have forced organisers to cancel the opening World Superbike race at Monza.

To see tyres disintegrating to that extent after only 3 laps is a joke, and the cancellation of the race has to come down to Pirelli entirely. Frankly they should be issuing partial refunds to everybody who attended the meeting - it's no different to Indianapolis F1 2005. Companies have been producing perfectly fast, durable and safe tyres for wet racing for rather a long time now, why can't Pirelli? Every time they've had to produce tyres to race against anybody else, they've failed miserably, yet the trend for control tyres has given them undeserved publicity.
