@prof-anity, just because a tire has more grip doesn't mean you can push the tire harder :) The BStones can handle more 'work' / temperature, that is why some of the people were supposedly complaining about having to put heat in to the BS tires.

Your assumption is that the pirelli qualifier provides more grip than the Bridgestone, yet you cannot prove this :) How do you know the Bridgestones do not provide more grip at proper temperatures and last even longer? Because they have to be able to manage higher loading, ergo the compound must be able to grip sufficiently enough to provide the pilot an opportunity to load the tires to that extent.

The tires are the biggest difference between MotoGP and WSBK, and isn't it convenient that both series are using control tires :) What ever is good for business and TV.
