Current World Superbike Championship points leader Troy Bayliss has been confirmed as one of the latest stars to confirm his participation in the 2008 Race of Champions at Wembley Stadium in December.
The Xerox Ducati rider, who will retire from WSBK competition at the end of the current season, will make his first appearance in the event since 2001, when he formed part of an All Star team that reached the finals of the Nations Cup.
This time around, Bayliss will be part of the first ever Team Australia entry into the event, where he will join forces with Red Bull Racing's F1 driver Mark Webber.
“I am really excited to be part of the Australian team alongside Mark Webber this year at The Race of Champions,” said Bayliss. “It's the first time there has been an Aussie contingent so we will be looking forward to having a good time there.”
Bayliss will join the likes of Valentino Rossi, James Toseland and Travis Pastrana in representing the two-wheeled fraternity in the annual event.
