After a successful couple of weeks, Ryuichi Kiyonari is hoping his recent run of good form extends to Brands Hatch, the tenth round of the World Superbike Championship.

Returning to the circuit where he clinched his two British Superbike titles, Kiyonari also comes to this year's event clutching the 2008 Suzuka 8 Hours trophy having triumphed with Ten Kate Honda team-mate Carlos Checa last week.

Following on from a revival of fortunes at Brno, Kiyonari is in a buoyant mood heading to Brands Hatch and is eyeing another strong result as he consolidates his position inside the overall top ten.

"I'm very happy with our win at Suzuka. This season I had to make many test sessions in Japan to set up the new Honda Fireblade for the 8-hours race, but now it has all paid off. Now I have to switch my mind to World Superbike. Brands Hatch is a track I already know from my British Superbike years, so I will push hard for a good result."

Team-mate Kenan Sofuoglu meanwhile is another to visit Brands Hatch with greater confidence after a much improved outing in the Czech Republic, one that saw him record a pair of top ten finishes from 26th on the grid.

With Brands Hatch harbouring good memories for the Turk after he won the 2007 World Supersport title there, Sofuoglu is hoping he has finally got to grips with the Honda bike.

"The Brno race was by far my best race of the season. For the first time I felt in control of the machine and I really enjoyed that feeling. Brands Hatch is a track I like and, on top of that, I won my Supersport World title last year here, so it brings back some very good memories.

"Riding at Brands on a superbike will for sure be different to riding it on a supersport, but I'm positive for this weekend."
