Noriyuki Haga returned to the top of the timesheets in warm-up ahead of today's two World Superbike races at Vallelunga, the Japanese rider three tenths quicker than pole man Troy Bayliss.

Haga, who was fastest in the wet Friday sessions, will start third on the grid behind Bayliss and Yamaha team-mate Troy Corser, but made his intentions known with a decent lap around the Italian circuit.

Bayliss followed in second, marginally up on Kenan Sofuoglu, the Turk again showing flashes of speed this weekend as he bids to save his ride at Ten Kate Honda next season.

Team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari was fifth quickest, ahead of Max Neukirchner, Lorenzo Lanzi, and Regis Laconi, while Corser, Michel Fabrizio and Max Biaggi completed the top ten.
