Kawasaki will have six bikes on the World Superbike grid in 2009 after Team Pedercini confirmed they will enter a pair of ZX-10Rs next year.

The Italian concern, which switched to 'Team Green' in 2008, will take to the grid with Luca Scassa and David Salom, both of whom will make their full-time WSBK debut next season.

Former Spanish Supersport Champion Salom graduates to Superbikes after two seasons spent in the World Supersport Championship with Yamaha Spain.

During that time he managed a best result of fifth place in 2007 and this year finished 29th in the standings. Still, while success on the world stage has been fleeting so far, Salom is confident Superbikes is the best arena for him to progress in his career.

"This is a very important step for my career because it will let me challenge in a class where only the best riders compete. I want to take advantage of this opportunity and learn from the best. I want to thank the team for having come to an agreement to let me race and I will do my very best to repay them with good results."

Scassa, meanwhile, makes a full-time move to World Superbikes after making a one-round appearance for DFX Honda at Portimao.

He comes to Pedercini with clutching a varied CV that includes credits in Italian and American Superbikes. His crowning glory, however, remains his Italian Superstock win for MV Agusta in 2006.

"I face this new adventure convinced that I can do well. The team is good and I can't wait for the championship to get underway. We must work hard to get our technical package working well and qualify strongly to get good grid positions. With everything in place we should make good progress and I hope to fight for top 10 finishes sometimes."

The confirmation of Pedercini, who ran Ayrton Badovini and Vittorio Iannuzzo in 2008, brings the list of confirmed WSBK entries for 2009 up to 31 - already three more than who lined up on the grid for the 2008 season opener at Losail.
