Leon Haslam and Roberto Rolfo have completed a successful two-day test session in Spain as the Stiggy Racing team continues preparations for its 2009 World Superbike Championship campaign.

The pair both spent time on track at Cartagena as the team tried out the newly developed ORAL engines and Magneti Marelli electronics on the Honda CBR 1000RR bikes.

"After these two days of testing my feelings are only positive," Haslam reflected afterwards. "The team work extremely well together and the crew are just great. The atmosphere in the team is fantastic.

"This test was focused on finding out as much as possible about the engines as well as the electronics. I think we pulled that off pretty well because we improved the bike and our lap times after every pit stop. My bike already feels better than a lot the bikes I rode in the past. The engine feels strong and has a lot of potential for sure. I'm really looking forward to the next test and the 2009 season."

Rolfo was also pleased with how the test had panned out.

"My feeling with the team is really good," he said. "It's a very experienced team and I'm very pleased with my crew chief and everybody else. Over the two days we managed to improve the bike and the rideability a lot. Today we worked on the engine characteristics and found out a lot of important information.

"I have to say the engine feels very powerful and smooth. The brakes and suspension work well and I found myself very comfortable on the bike. Although we need more time to improve in some areas, I feel very positive about next season."
