WSS: Roccoli joins Intermoto Honda.

Massimo Roccoli has announced he will be severing ties with Yamaha for the first time in seven years after signing a deal with the KL Intermoto Czech team.

Roccoli switches allegiance to Honda after a difficult season with Yamaha Lorenzini by Leoni, one that saw him finish down in 12th position overall with a best result of sixth place at Magny-Cours.

A race winner back in 2006, Roccoli joins Patrick Vostarek at Intermoto, who remains with the team for his second season.

"I am pleased to have signed with this team, which last year proved to be a professional outfit" Roccoli said. "In my first outing with the team I found a friendly and competent staff and this helped to start things off in the best possible way.

“Now we go testing in Portugal and hopefully we'll find the right conditions to do a good job. I'm feeling pretty determined now and can't wait for the championship to start.”

Intermoto Czech finished 13th overall in 2008 with Matthieu Lagrive, the Frenchman scoring two pole positions, but only managing a best finish of fourth at his home Magny-Cours round.
