This is from World Superbike's website. "Over at Yamaha their two new riders Ben Spies and Tom Sykes, who have never even seen Phillip Island, both took time to learn the track, and they ended up seventh and sixth respectively." Because of this, I wouldn't bet on Sykes staying ahead of Spies. Spies will learn the track and when he does, lookout everyone! Spies has really changed my impression of him over the last few months. Even though I still believe Spies and Mladin had an obvious advantage over everyone in the AMA Superbike series, Spies has rose above the nay-sayers like me and others to prove that he is the REAL deal! Good luck to him! He's made a fan outta me!

featherz- Dude u must be joking u really need to lay off the pipe! U have a lot of nerve discounting any champ let alone a 3time back to back AMA champ. Thats like dissing Fogertys titles because its WSBK. Mladin is the real deal and to beat him 3 year in a row is no easy task so toss off!!! Ben is a contender and hes already doing much better then most of the WSBK vet in his rookie year. Even Bayliss said he a title contender. Give the kid credit where credit is do! Put the hateraid down.
