WSS: Sofuoglu ends test on top

Ten Kate Honda returned to front of the field on the final day of World Supersport testing at Phillip Island, with Kenan Sofuoglu claiming the quickest time.

Having allowed Triumph and Yamaha to collect the spoils on the first day of testing around the Australian circuit, Honda's Sofuoglu edged ahead with a best lap of 1min 34.7secs.

Still, the British manufacturer remained competitive enough to post the second fastest time, with yesterday's pace setter Garry McCoy just a tenth further back, despite experiencing a fall.

Defending champion Andrew Pitt moved into third position, ahead of Yamaha pair Cal Crutchlow and Fabien Foret, the rookie Brit once again out pacing his more experienced team-mate.

The second BE1 Racing Triumph of Gianluca Nannelli and the Yamaha of Doni Tata Pradita rounded out the positions in sixth and seventh, 1.6secs and 2.6secs off the pace respectively.

Sofuoglu couldn't cut in WSB on one of the best bikes on the grid. He isn't going to do better on a MotoGP bike. WSS is his series, in so far as he has a talent for riding that type of bike...
