Shane Byrne is remaining in a positive frame of mind, despite qualifying down in 15th position following problems with his Sterilgarda bike during Superpole.
Byrne has struggled for competitiveness so far this weekend, the British rider finding himself on the wrong end of a tight timesheet as he continues to make up for the days he didn't test at Phillip Island last week.
Still, despite failing to record a top ten lap time so far, Byrne was expecting a good result in Superpole, only to find himself unable to do much when a problem mounting the tyre prevented him from doing a lap on qualification rubber.
With that in mind, Byrne is certain he would have been further up the grid. Nonetheless, having proved on countless occasions in the British championship that he is a confident racer, he is hopeful of a good result in the races.
"I'm ready for tomorrow's two races and I'm confident I can do well. I have a great feeling with the track and hopefully will have a good start. I'll have a lot of time to make a recovery and score a positive result.
“It's a real pity and I am sure I could've improved my time in the Superpole with at least half a second and I would've fought for the first eight spots.”
