From Ben Spies's superb double Superbike victory to Eugene Laverty's stunning last gasp World Supersport triumph, the second round of the 2009 World Superbike Championship at Losail was certainly a weekend of firsts.

Set against the backdrop of the Qatari desert, the challenging Losail circuit threw up some entertaining moments and some very close racing – and our snappers were there to capture every moment.

Great pics as usual, but why no search function like the old site layout? I want to search for specific riders and bikes, not trawl through pages of pictures that I don't necessarily want to see...
