Leon Haslam is looking to maintain his role as Honda's leading representative in the World Superbike Championship as the series heads to his home round 'rehearsal' of Assen.

With no local riders to support in the Superbike class, the Dutch spectators are often infiltrated by a large tally of British supporters, who make the trip across the North Sea to get a glimpse of their favourites before the series arrives in the UK in the next couple of months.

As Britain's top rider in the series, Haslam is likely to be the big attraction for patriotic fans this year as he heads to the fourth round of the season fifth in the standings aboard the Stiggy Honda.

Finishing three of this year's six races inside the top five, although technical issues have hindered his progress during free practice, Haslam has proven to be a consistently quick race rider. Having competed at Assen before, he is confident of more of the same.

"I am really looking forward to the next race in Assen. I have raced on the old circuit before, and am looking forward to racing the new parts of the track, especially the first section.

"There is always a really good English fan base in Assen as well. We have some parts for the bike to test this weekend, which will hopefully further improve the bike."
