WSS: Crutchlow quickest in FP2

Cal Crutchlow and Joan Loscorz look set to carry their rivalry through to qualifying for the latest round of the World Supersport Championship at Assen as they continued to dominate free practice.

Although Lascorz held the upper hand on the first day of competition, it was Crutchlow's turn to top the timesheets in second free practice, the British rider recording the fastest lap of the weekend in the process.

His Spanish rival was a mere tenth behind on the Provec Kawasaki, while Kenan Sofuoglu kept a watching brief in third on the Ten Kate Honda, three tenths adrift.

A strong session for the rapidly improving Kawasaki team, Lascorz's team-mate Katsuaki Fujiwara was fourth quickest, while Yamaha's Michele Pirro and Fabien Foret were also on form to dent Honda's superiority in the category.

Instead, the Japanese manufacturer had to be content with the lower end of the top ten, with reigning champion Andrew Pitt leading Anthony West, Matthieu Lagrive and Eugene Laverty.

The one and only World Supersport qualification session takes place later today.
