Leon Haslam is hoping to have begun race day as he means to go on after claiming the quickest time in morning warm-up at Assen.
The British rider starts from his and Stiggy Racing's best grid position of the season in third later today, Haslam warming up in style to set a quickest time of 1min 38.906secs.
Pole sitter Ben Spies was two tenths adrift in second position, ahead of Yamaha team-mate Tom Sykes, while Carlos Checa and championship leader Noriyuki Haga settled just behind in fourth and fifth.
