Noriyuki Haga continues to be the unstoppable force in the World Superbike Championship standings after four rounds and eight races having pulled out a 60 point advantage over Ben Spies.

Spies' third failure to score points this season has further dented his title hopes, to the point that he comes away from Assen coming under some pressure from third position instead.

Third belongs to the once more impressive Leon Haslam, whose second and third place finishes have lifted him two positions up to third overall, a remarkable achievement on the privateer Stiggy Honda.

Michel Fabrizio and Max Neukirchner are fourth and fifth after troubled days, while Tom Sykes' run of top ten finishes means he holds a very notable sixth overall too, just ten points behind Fabrizio.

Elsewhere, Jakub Smrz made big gains, jumping six positions to tenth overall, although just a single point for Ryuichi Kiyonari makes him the big loser of the day dropping from 11th to 15th.

Meanwhile, 26 riders have now scored points in 2009 after Karl Muggeridge, Brendan Roberts, Matteo Baiocco and Luca Scassa all opened up their score cards for the first time in the Netherlands.
