My morale is shattered, says Byrne

Shane Byrne says his morale has been shattered by his continued struggles on the Sterilgarda Ducati following another difficult weekend at Monza.

The British rider was feeling confident of a good result in Italy after a successful 'test' at the circuit a week previous when he competed in the Italian CIV Superbike series.

However, after qualifying a lowly 15th, Byrne found himself in the lower end of the points for the majority of the day, finishing 14th in race one before suffering a 20 second penalty in the second to leave him 18th.

A bigger struggle than Byrne had anticipated, the lack of results at Monza are beginning to take their toll on his confidence.

"My morale is shattered. I did know that it would be hard to score a good result on this track, but I was expecting a better performance on my part. Now I just have to forget everything and try to improve with help from the crew starting next week".

Hi, Dale here. In case anyone hasn't already noticed I just want to say that, yes, I do have an obsession with one particular rider - Shane Byrne. I've never met him, or him me for that matter. And I don't think I've even ever seen him ride (apart from a few shots of him on the TV). But there's something about his successes so far, something about the fact that he's been BSB Champion twice, BSB Privateer Champion and won two WSB wildcard races in the same afternoon, together with the enthusiasm he shares with all the other current BSB and WSB riders to achieve, be successful and take on bigger challeneges in the sport that REALLY ANNOYS ME to the point that I can't stop slagging the guy off.

Like I said before there's no way that a rider like Shakey with all his guile and racecraft and ability on a Ducati is in any way to blame for the poor results. So lay off lovley Shakey. Look at the picture to the left and the sadness in those eyes makes me cry. I love Shane and not in a matey mancrush type of way but the love of one man to his soulmate. Chin up Shane, Love, nitro nori
