Sterilgarda Ducati team manager Marco Borciani says his team has identified the problem that kept Shane Byrne rooted in the mid-field at Monza and are now targeting a significant improvement for the latest World Superbike round at Kyalami.

Byrne struggled for pace at the team's home event in Italy, leading him to claim that his morale had been 'shattered' by the continued problems he is facing with the team.

Nonetheless, Borciani is maintaining his focus for the immediate next round in South Africa, stating that they are better than their current performances indicate.

"I'm sure our performance at Monza doesn't reflect our potential. We'll race on a circuit that I know very well from the times I used to race in the WSBK and I'm confident "Shakey" can replicate the results of this season's early rounds.

"Moreover, I think we know now what was the cause of Byrne's performance at Monza. We'll obviously find out more during the first two practice sessions on Friday".
