Leon Haslam is confident Carlos Checa's performance at Miller Motorsports Park last year will ensure that he is a podium challenger for the latest round of the World Superbike Championship.

Having consolidated fourth position in the standings with a fourth place finish at Kyalami, Haslam insists his Stiggy Racing Honda is continuing to make improvements with every round.

Indeed, with Checa managing a double victory on a Honda at the Utah circuit last season, Haslam believes he and the bike will have no problem adapting this year.

"The Miller track will be a new one to us, but I am confident we can get the bikes ready quickly enough without having to play catch-up with the other teams that much," he said.

"We have been successfully developing the bike and getting ideas on how to improve it in every round so far, so it will be interesting to see what we can do at the Miller track.

"It should suit the Honda, as Checa has shown last year. It will be a challenge as I have not ridden the circuit yet, but I'm looking forward to that challenge and hopefully we will be pushing for the podium again."
