Noriyuki Haga is believed to have come away with nothing more than bruises following a massive accident during the second qualification session at Miller Motorsports Park.
The championship leader high-sided towards the end of the session, being flung over his Ducati Xerox and landing heavily on the track before sliding into the gravel pit.
Prompting a red flag period, although Haga was seen to be on his knees for some time after the fall, he was able to pick himself up and walk to the ambulance. Taken to the medical centre for checks, Haga is now back in his garage with some heavy bruising.
The Japanese rider, who broke his collarbone in an accident at Miller Motorsports Park last year, now has a free practice session to partake in before Superpole to allow him to decide whether or not to continue.
