Barry Veneman has announced he will continue to compete in the 2009 World Supersport Championship as an independent entity after acquiring a Honda CBR600RR from the Ten Kate team.

The Dutchman looked set to be left on the sidelines for the remainder of 2009 after previous team Hoegee Suzuki confirmed their withdrawal from the series prior to the upcoming Misano round.

Nonetheless, Veneman will be on the grid in Italy after buying the 2008 specification machines as raced by Kenan Sofuoglu and Andrew Pitt during the early part of this season.

Although he will receive technical support from fellow Dutch competitors Ten Kate, Veneman's operation will be otherwise private.
