Rea breaks race lap record in France

Jonathan Rea got ready for the latest World Superbike Championship round at Misano by breaking the Magny-Cours lap record during mid-season testing.

The Ten Kate Honda team travelled to the French circuit to prepare themselves for the second-half of the year, with Rea managing a time of 1min 39.7secs, just inside Troy Bayliss' race lap record.

Team-mates Ryuichi Kiyonari and Carlos Checa were also present, the former setting a time of 1min 39.9secs and the latter just behind on 1min 40.2secs.

Supersport riders Kenan Sofuoglu and Andrew Pitt were also testing, with the Turk setting the faster time of 1min 42.8secs, three tenths quicker than his team-mate.
