WSS: Crutchlow adds to advantage again

Cal Crutchlow heads to his home World Supersport Championship round at Donington Park with an increased margin between himself and Eugene Laverty after winning his third round of the season at Misano.

Crutchlow prevailed in a thrilling exchange with his key title rival following an interrupted race that saw the Yamaha rider marginally behind Laverty prior to the red flag.

Although he assumed the lead at the restart, Laverty looked to have the edge when he moved back ahead with four laps remaining. However, Crutchlow remained in close contention and regained the lead on the penultimate lap, holding him off to the chequered flag.

With his advantage in the standings back up 14 points, Crutchlow is now setting his sights on a similar performance on home ground at Donington Park.

"It was great to come here to Misano and take the win. It's all credit to the team, they did a fantastic job again and we're back to winning form. Let's hope we can continue this, bring it home to Donington and take another victory."
