Noriyuki Haga expects he will be fighting it out for victory with the series of British riders racing this season during the latest round of the World Superbike Championship at Donington Park.
In all, seven British riders will line up at Donington Park, three of whom – Jonathan Rea, Leon Haslam, Shane Byrne – having already scored podiums this season, while Tom Sykes and wild-cards James Ellison, Leon Camier and Simon ANdrews are also anticipated to be a reckoned force when action gets underway.
Together with title rivals Ben Spies and Michel Fabrizio, Ducati Xerox rider Haga admits a victory challenge will be tough at Donington Park, but he is confident he can give them a 'run for their money'
“Last year I didn't have much luck at Donington at all, but if I put that aside, over the years I've done ok there and have had some race wins. I'm still in the lead but I'll be doing all I can to extend the advantage I have.
"I realise that some of the Brits will be up there fighting for the podium places at their home track but I'll be giving them a run for their money."
Haga failed to finish either race in 2008, his Yamaha expiring in race one before he was disqualified from race two for not adhering to a drive-through penalty.
