John Hopkins promises a return to race action at Donington Park after taking the decision to skip Misano to allow more time for recovery.
Having missed eight races due to an injury sustained back at Assen, Hopkins returned to the World Superbike Championship at Misano, but would only ride on the first day before choosing to sit out the races due to a swollen leg.
Nonetheless, Hopkins insists he will compete at Donington Park just a week later, stating it was his original aim to be back in action for this event.
“I couldn't race in Misano simply because me leg was so swollen. But now I have started to break the scar tissue inside the leg I will keep cycling and working it and hopefully we'll be a lot stronger going into Donington, and make the full weekend there.
“That was the ultimate goal anyway, make the full return at Donington.”
