Jason O'Halloran will make a surprise appearance at the annual mid-season World Supersport Championship test at Imola aboard an Althea Racing Honda CBR600.
The Aussie, a former Australian Supersport champion, has been competing in the British Superbike Championship this season with SMT Honda.
However, in the same week that the team revealed financial woes could force them out of the upcoming Mallory Park round of the series, O'Halloran has appeared on the entry list for the test riding a second Althea Honda.
A potential long-term replacement for Matthieu Lagrive, who is now riding for Althea Honda in World Superbikes, O'Halloran will line-up alongside countryman Mark Aitchison for the test.
Elsewhere, Sheridan Morais will also make an appearance on a third BE1 Racing Triumph 675 Daytona. Fresh from his star turn on the World Superbike stage at Kyalami, the South African joins Garry McCoy and Gianluca Nannelli in a team currently on a high following their podium result last time out at Donington Park.
